The Literacy and Numeracy assessments are digital exams that are set by NZQA at specified times during the year. The Literacy digital exam has two separate components, Reading and Writing (worth 5 credits each). Numeracy (worth 10 credits) involves one exam only. If students do not obtain NCEA Literacy (Reading & Writing) and Numeracy in Year 10 they will have further opportunities in Year 11 and beyond.
